Do you know how to set up a merchant account? There are a number of retailing studies that indicate merchant services on your ‘net business site will drive additional traffic, sales and profits – and likewise the lack of credit card processing will actually send customers away. Not so much because they are feeling inconvenienced – more to the point consumers today view any online retailer that does take one of the big four – American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA – with suspicion. Fair or not, they think that any site that does not give them the option to pay by credit card as being less that legitimate. And any business person will tell you that is not the path to profits and riches.
